Charles Haviland of BBC asked, "So where do you see the King in 5 Years?" Prachande goes.." He will be Crushed...sorry." and then he smiles and murmers in nepali to somebody else in the room (most probably Baburam).."English ma vannai aayena.."

i agree with redstone. prachanda said that the king will be crushed after which he said sorry and said "english ma bhanna lako.." . I think he was so fired up when the question came up about the future of the king that he started to speak in english!! it was funny nonetheless.

bond 007 brother there is no such thing that if one doesn't know how to speak english, he/she is not educated. as far as my knowledge is concerned prachanda is more educated academically also than gyansingh and his aath-fail son paras. he is a graduate from IAAS rampur. B.Sc in Agri. i have even heard that he taught sometime in IAAS, though i am not sure.

"People in glass house should not throw stones at other people's houses." "Aru ko tauko ko jumra dekhney, aafno aang ko bhaishi nadekhney." ... aadi ittyadi!!! Lot of Sajha posters have TERRIBLE English. Yet, there you are, making fun of someone else for not being able to express properly in English.

Chatmandude, You might be right, but ain't that the problem for Nepal since Democracy came to the country........People who are uneducated....inexperienced....have been ruling the country and use their power over brain in critical situations, and now we have a so called Civil war...........From Girija to Bam Dev.....I wonder how many even have a Intermediate Degree.......I totally agree with Mahakaal.....Baburam is a genius...in terms of how sharp he is...he has MA or PhD, but is doing no good to the country since he can't use his brain......Its not what kinda Degree they hold, its how illiterate our leaders have been...how ignorant they have been....and how stupid they have been...and are continuing......

I wonder how an uncharismatic, inarticulate and unassertive person could be a leader. It is just my observation from Prachanda’s interview.

I read most of the comments in this thread. Why people think if a person speaks only nepali, he is not educated? or disqualified? I think it's a respect to our language. " If you visit many tourist areas, taxi drivers, riksaw drivers, street sellers speak english very well". The top world leaders mostly speak their mother language. I agree with "pire" because many people look like to have negative feeling towards prachanda. But they forget to analyse the current stuation in nepal. We should not forget what maoist movement gave in these five years. I think it is their policy to speak only Nepali. He said "the king will be crushed" and immediately said sorry. He used that sentence though he was not supposed to do. I thinks this shows that he knows english too. (Note: my english is not good)

Bichara re?? Baburam ra Prachanda lai?? What an irony.. They have amassed more money than seven political parties -combined corruption. They have robbed every citizen of the country and made every society longe for their loved ones. They have destroyed lives, hope and the future. No they do not live in the jungles. They are either in India, or in someone's house. Yeta manche lai Bichara re.. dhat therri..

NOt that speaking good English matters! I posted the originally thread..just beacuse it looked so damn funny and Prachande was actually smilng/laughing when he realized that he had started bursting out in English..:He will be crushed...". I was actually quite impressed with Gyane's command of the English languge. Yeah..Yeah..he went to all these private schools and all. But I was watching a program by national geographic on monarchies around the world. And I must admit. Gyan ji sounded very poetic, sincere and was quite impressive. Peace

wretch, I would belive moro "prachadee" Mo -Fo-B is educated when he starts making sense. I dont know, I guess, we can ask anyone around about his educational background.. but I doubt he is qualified! He does not seem to have a strong argument? We see that he made a conflicting statement durning the interview. Even the BBC spokesman laughted at him... I guess that tells us about his personality. I just dont trust that MO-FO. I just think he is one of the MInister type.. who wants to get on the chair and start making money and live 'high' life. I dont see a reason why Nepal should be "Peoples Republic". The problem is not the King but the Political Party.. if we could correct that problem.. and bring education to properly civilize the citiezens.. i am sure Nepal would be the place to live.. Jay Nepal

“Now democracy is my only agenda.” How pathetic was the interview in CNN by the famous sayer of the great bani above. I was having the feeling that answers in Nepali with someone to translate would have better conveyed his message. Anyway, gone is past, language is not, the content and ways to deliver it counts. This is something Nepali leaders would have to improve if they claim themselves to represent us. Bravo, we are the future, we will not take it hands down.

Well.. Prachanda seems to represent entire Nepali population... when he made such statements like "Nepali people want ..." I would like to know from whom he got that permission... That MOFO should realize all the Nepali citizens does not agree with him... Hamro desh lai.. barbadi ko mukh ma dhakalni moro.. claims to save it.. such an ass hole...

Though this is a copy of my posting in another thread, I assume this might be relevant to this thread too. It seems to me that there is greater bloodshed in the offing: Well, Prachanda and Baburam et. al. are not less evil than KG. Both of them are directly involved in terrorist activities right from the inception of the ‘WAR AGAINST NEPAL’- beheading of poor villagers, teachers, policemen, army men and their family members, systematic killing of activists of other political parties, destruction of back bone of development- infrastructures such as Telecommunication tower (I was surprised to see Prachanda holding cell phone!, he needs it but deprives the poor from such means of communication to hear from his/her son/daughter from Malaysia/Kuwait/Afghanistan/Iraq, what a great leader), Airport, hydroelectricity projects, administrative buildings for local government bodies including recently destroyed Palpa darbar- a national monument, forceful closure of private and sometimes government schools, industries and so many to name here. It seems to me that their adroit tactic to divide and rule is only visible to Americans and remained unnoticed to Political leaders and the KG. Prachanda and Baburam have been personally involved in directing systematic killing and terror against carders of political parties. They have first just targeted NC and rest of others remained silent or sometimes even happy but as time progressed they did not spare even ideologically nearest sister parties like Janamorcha/Mashal etc. In past 10 years, they have killed more than 13 thousand innocent Nucleases and destroyed the hard earned infrastructure, displaced millions of people both inside and outside of the country. NOW, they come and say that they have realized that terror and violence are not the right way to change the system so that they even want to accept Monarchy if people choose to do so and whatever they are doing is for the shake of “DEVELOPMENT OF DEMOCRACY’ (Prachanda words during his interview to BBC). WOW, every other person misuses the word Democracy- political leaders, KG and now Prachanda also in the list. In this 21st century arm revolution alone can not bring revolution anywhere without support from countries like US and the rest of the West. They realized this only after 10 years! What great leaders they are? Whatever good intension they claim to have for the shake of people, to me they seem just another form of Tyranny. They can speak whatever they think is right and nobody dares to speak against their atrocities because in Nepal the bitter fact is that no one can survive without their “grace”-the grace to survive. If you speak against them then you will be another Ganesh Chelwal. Is it not true that it is the fear of Maoist that people think 1000 times before making any statements/comments against their atrocities? How could you believe in these adroit leaders of deceit and tactics to sublime into modern liberal democratic leaders who comply and leave up with the aspirations of 21st century democracy? I initially thought to write comments of Moriarty views or more precisely of instructions to KG and Parties but the slightest thought of Maoist running Nepal make me nervous. And to some extent Moriarty seems to have analyzed relatively accurately the ground reality of Nepal. From his statement it seems to be clear that: “US is determined not to see alliance of 7/8 parties with Maoists and Maoist constituting parallel government with re-organization of its people army with incorporation of carders from political parties as envisioned by Prachanda will not be supported or perhaps viewed as a mean to establish a RED state in between China and India by US and its allies.” Now interesting events to unfold in the future are: 1. Will Maoist be able to keep 7/8 parties with them against constant pressure of Royal sympathizers within the parties and US? Even if they succeeded in forming alliance and outstayed (which is most unlikely in the near future as accepted by Prachanda himself) KG, it seems that US is determined to ostracize Maoists and possibility of RED government of Maoist history in Nepal is very unrealistic (especially when Moriarty hopes/wishes Nepal would be coming under Bush’s priority list in future). 2. Will KG heed the voices of US and India (Two pillar theory- Multiparty democracy and Constitutional Monarchy) and steps-down and honestly remains as a constitutional monarchy as his brother Late King B did? (I guess bringing Army directly under PM and parliament would only that something assures parties that King as constitutional Monarch). Will KG be willing to be a king of just Naranayanhiti Palace whereas PM/parliament enjoys every small bit of power of Nepal? This looks unlikely to happen especially with the traits of KG which means that real compromise and mutual respect between parliamentary parties and KG from heart and soul might be a day dream for most of the Nepalese. Well, now both of these seem not happening in the near future, that might be one of the reasons that Prachanda is expecting to happen some change in 5 years. This means we will be witnessing more deaths and atrocities from both sides.
