Ok, where goes the scenario....

There were three of us: Me, Harke and our lovely Nails. Uffffffffffffffffffffffff.. :D

So, we were just walking and walking and just walkin down the buzy ratna park. All-of-a-sudden, nails saw one momo pasal. चान्चुने म:म: पसल होईन नि, गाठ्ठे, it called: Sandar Everest Momo Pasal :D. (सान्दार म:म: पसल - रु.१० पिलेटको) Anyways, so we decided to hop in that restaurant; and ordered our momo with मोमोचाको झोल. It was good, and since it was just 10/plate; it was even better. After a while we were done, so we all three took रु.१०(rs.10), and it summed up to रु.३०.

So, Nails took the money and went to the counter to pay. AND, GUESS WHO SHE SEES?
It was noone but, our San bro :D. He owned the store. The fact that he is so kind, he decided to give us a 'discount'. ५ रुपे डिस्काऊन्ट रे (rs. 5 discount). Thus, the total bill was rs. 25.

Well, Nails paid 25. However, she has now rs.5 left with her. And, we decided to split the money; since it was rs. 5, we all kept a rs.1 and Nails has rs.2 extra. ( 5 - 3 = 2) easy calculation. However, nails had to use her finger and toes :p

हर्के दाजुलाई चै प्वाक्क बोल्नु परिहाल्नु पर्ने - he said, "Lets Tip". Nails almost went nuts when she heard those two words from Harkedai, but My "yes" kept her quiet.
So, we Tiped the remaining rs. 2.

Hence, i'm a Nerd. I decided to calculate our money cuz i dont trust Nails...she mite have, u know.


It was total bill of rs. 30. San gave us rs. 5 discount; which became 25. We all kept rs.1 each. = rs. 3 and gave rs. 2 as tips.

I'm CONFUSSED...because,

We all had rs. 10 out = 3 x 10 = 30

Got rs.1 each back from rs. 5 (discount). Making that rs. 9 each.
i.e. 9 x 3 = 27
rs. 2 for the tips = 2

27 + 2 = 29 . एक रुपे खोई?

look into ur pocket. u just mentioned 27 rs u people spent for momo and 2 rs for tipps.what about the money in ur pocket?

in fact , the problem here ist u mentioned rs 2 twice once in the expenses of momo and tipps.expense of momo is 25 and 2 rs tipps make 27 and each of u has 1 rs in pocket.u calculated 9x3=27.this is the sum of money u gave from ur pocket which includes the tipps as well and the remaining 3 is in ur pocket so if u count individually , rs 1 is in ur pocket.check it out , if it isnt there u must have bought orange balls(rs 1 ma 3wata authyou pahile hehe)or lost it lol!!

I guess, when u state the problem verbally then i reckon the confussion starts and its really hard to figure out the mis-calculation which i did.
But, in the case of sajha - i had to write up the problem.
