Iam Nepali nurse ,I need to take psychiatric nursing course in california.Anybody know about this procedure?

Now Iam far from california but Iam plannig to go California to take psychiatric nursing course to become eligible for NCLEX Rn from california board of registered nursing so please can u help me in this matter?

can you come and give Nclex exam right after u finish staff nursing in nepal or do u need to have some expeience to give those tests

I thought this might be important to nursing students.

D. SCHEDULE A WORKER VISA CATEGORY

A small amount of Schedule A Worker numbers which had been provided to consular offices for November use were returned unused after the end of the month and thus became available for reallocation. All remaining Schedule A Worker numbers have been made available to applicants whose priority dates are within the January cut-off date (15JUN04). The Schedule A Worker category will be removed from the listings beginning with the February cut-off dates.

amankali, Okay, if you already in the US and already fill the form regarding NCLEX from California and if CA board of nursing ask you to take extra classes like psychiatric, you don't need to go to CA for that class. You better ask to the 2 yrs colleges around you and let them know that CA board of nursing required that class. So after you take the class, submit your psychiatric grate to the CA board of nursing and they will allow you to take NCLEX. I hope u understand...

niravana75062, you can come to the USA and take the NCLEX exam as soon as you finsih your Nursing degree in Nepal but better to have few years experience to impliment your theoritical knowledge in real life, thats help a lot for NCLEX exam.

I just want to take nclex-rn but my education canot meet the requirement of us.I need to take the psychiatric nursing course .Many guys from Nepal who take the same course became eligible but I cannot become eligible so Iam looking for this type of course.

amankali, I am bit confused that how do u know that your education in Nepal not meet the requirement of CA board of Nursing. Did u already communicate with CA board of Nursing or some of your fiends who had already filled the form and told u? sometime, what happen they even don't ask anything and let you take a NCLEX and if they ask to take extra course then you have to take that class. So my suggestion is to contact the board of nursing where u wanna take a NCLEX from and they will give you detail regarding u have to take psychatric or not... GOOD LUCK
