Newman University is not good university for Nepalese student, by force the University people  will make every student " OUT OF STATUS", so i would suggest for students those who are trying to come here please find some other options.

Amy Larea is not a good international student advisor in my opinion. I did work for her for a semester but it was a real bad experience. I am shocked that she is still there. Sparrow

Could you be more specific? How did they force students to be "out of status"?

i studied there for 5 semesters n transfered to a different college. i m having a great relief now.

If you work for 20.5 hours a week they will make you out of status. if you work off campus they will make you out of status.

actually they hate Nepali Student. if you go Newmanu University, you Can feel how they will treat you.

Even if you are getting some scholarship, when you reach at school they will deny that, or they can say it's conditional scholarship.

but before june 2006 it was heaven for nepalease, everything happened according to nepali student. We was feeling it is our home far from Home when Dr. Larsen and President Don Levy was serving this university, but now this is a racist ansd anti-Nepali university.

Take it easy and don't be too naive to blame the advisor for everything. Things have changed after 911. Remember!!! most of the hijackers were F1 student. They're changing laws left and right in the name of National Security. That's his/her job, cannot blame for doing it honestly. What do you expect that she/he become crook ,dishonest like us, Nepali ? Be thankful that they atleast allow you in, if you're not pleased with the situation, LEAVE. Please be aware, this is a free country.

Technically, the advisor is right if you work more than 20 hours, you're breaking the law. So think about it.
