Hello all,
Pllease click 'Photo Albums' to view the photos of recent Nepal trip.
These photos are proof to show we can live in US and do something in Nepal.
Most common tourists takes pictures of sadhus and children in rags or garbage on our streets and such photos sends a wrong message. And they show the photos to their friends and families and they in turn will tell their friends and families. Bottomline = world thinks Nepal is poor poor poor. This is the ugly side of Nepal.
Yes, I admit we are poor economically but filthy rich in culture and biodiversity. This is the beauty side of Nepal.
This trip exposed the beauty side of Nepal. Through series of lectures and field trips, we visited Kathmnadu, Chitwan, Pokhara, Ghandruk and Malekhu. Both TU and KU proffs and students, government officials from Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (Dr.Keshav Sharma) accompanied us to different field sites. And NGO personnels such as Dr.Bajracharya (NTNC = National Trust for Nature Conservation) gave lectures and provided insight in Nepal ecotourism. Not only we made the trip successful but it changed the lives of foreign students forever. They are going back again = such is the attraction of Nepal.</P>
I hope people who said 'go to Nepal and do something instead of living here and whine about doing nothing' will get something out of this. I have started something that in the long run will bring some positive outcomes.
enjoy.
