Today, as I was walking towards my office in Lazimpat
passing the streets where students were burning tires, beating people to bring
attention to patriotism. I began to ask
myself what the !@#^ happened to us Nepalese. What the !@#$ is wrong with our
national figure who thinks its ok to speak to take oath in Hindi? What the !@#$ is wrong with the students who
are supposed to be the future leaders of Nepal thinks its ok to beat another
citizen, shut down our economy to bring obstruction to our daily affairs. Is that
the definition of being patriotic?
As I finally got to my office dodging stones and coughing my
heart out from the smoke… a dear friend of mine reminded me of this song “Baneko
Cha Paharale Yo Chati Mero…†a great classic number we all remember. I think TODAY is THE day we should all listen
to this song and remind ourselves perhaps recheck the definition of PATRIOTISM.
