I want to go to nepal on may 7 th. It may be +7 days. And want to return after 5-6 weeks. Looking for cheap tickets to ktm from zone 3 of USA. I need two tickets. Fed up with calling and mailing everyone when half the websites are not working. I would like to request all the travel agents to provide the price details and specify the transit route. I dont want to fly via Delhi. I hope the replies to this thread will be helpful to all the nepalese going back home. Hope to get a good reasonable price details. Please do reply. in this thread.

.First of all, I am surprised about your problem. Just yesterday, I googled "flight to Kathmandu" and found a link to Himalayan Travels. I think they are in California. I immediately called the number, and the person on the line gave me a quote of $1800 in a matter of few minutes. In addition, he was even ready to reserve a ticket for me. But, I was only trying to find out how much the tickets cost these days. I was only inquiring because I am planning to go back to Nepal around April/May. By the way, he even told me what the route was going to be. It would be through the pacific. So, I'm guessing that the stopovers were going to be in either Honkong or Japan.

Keep checking the tickets on your own too. One thing I've seen most often from the travel agents is they normally look for tickets with middle eastern airlines, and most often than not there will be around 10hrs of transit somewhere in the middle east. I just did a quick check for May07/08 to Jun 07/08. Singapore Airlines is offering 1704 for round trip from Houston There will be 4 and 6hrs transit in Singapore during fly in and out. Thai is offering 1668 roundtrip from Los Angeles but there is 4 and 10hrs transit in Bangkok during fly in and out. Also looking at your profile, it says you are from Alabama. So I did a quick search from Birmingham, AL with multiple Airlines (Continental and Qatar during fly in and Etihad and Continental during fly out), and found the cheapest ticket for 1916. It is Birmingham - Houston - London - Doha - Kathmandu with 4:25 transit in Houston (you'll need it for international flight check it) and 5:30 transit in London and around 90mins elsewhere. Return is Kathmandu - Abu Dhabi - London - Houton - Birmingham with less than 2hrs transit everywhere. If I were you, I would rather pay a hundred or two dollars more to avoid 10hrs transit.

These websites generates the cheapest tickets possible. I am also in a process of buying tickets but the response I am getting from travel agencies are not good. They want you to pay the highest fare possible. And they make you feel like their quote is the final and the best.
Some fares generated by these websites are as low as $1500 USD. Try different dates, because there is a difference of $100-200 for different days in a same week.

I am getting mine through mobissimo. Good luck guys.
