हरेक वर्ष जुलाई ४ सप्ताहन्तमा आयोजना हुने आना सम्मेलन संभवत अमेरिकामा छरिएर रहेका नेपालीहरुको सबैभन्दा बिशाल जमघट हो भन्दा अत्युक्ति नहोला र सो सम्मेलनकै लागि भनेर हरेक वर्ष नेपालबाट पनि विभिन्न राजनितिक, सामाजिक तथा कलाकारिता क्षेत्रका व्यक्तित्वहरुको पनि सहभागिता रहने यो सम्मेलनमा क्यानाडा रहेका नेपालीहरुले पनि सम्मेलनमा भाग लिने गरेका छन / यसै क्रममा आउदो वर्षको लागि यो सम्मेलनको आयोजना गर्ने मौका पाएको छ उत्तरी क्यालिफोर्नियाको सान फ्रान्सिस्को सहरले,  हालसम्म हरेक वर्ष आना र स्थानीय नेपाली संगठनको संयुक्त आयोजनामा हुदै आएको यो सम्मलेनको बारेमा सार्वजनिक रुपमा केही तयारी भएको सुन्नमा आएको छैन / हरेक वर्षको झै स्थानीय नेपाली संगठनको  मुख्य भूमिका रहदै आइरहेको परम्परा नतोडिने हो भने यस वर्षको ANA(Association of Nepalese in America) सम्मेलनको मुख्य जिम्मेवारी NANC (Nepalese association of Northern California) को हुनुपर्ने देखिन्छ / NANC को आउदो २००८ डिसेम्बर १३ तारीख हुने निर्वाचनले नया कार्यकारी समिति जन्माउने छ र ANA को कार्यकारी समितिसंग गहन छलफल गरी आफ्नो भूमिका प्रस्तुत गर्न नसके अमेरिकाको अन्य स्टेटबाट सम्मेलनमा भाग लिन आउने नेपालीहरूले गिज्याउने छन /

NANC ले ANA सम्मेलनको संयुक्त रुपमा ANA संग आयोजना गर्न सके स्थानीय नेपाली स्वयंसेवकहरु तथा शुभ चिन्तकहरु एकै छानो मुनि समेटने थियो र त्यसो भएमा सम्मेलनले पनि सफलता हासिल गर्ने विश्वास गर्न सकिन्छ /

Thesedays ANA is becoming a glorified franchise institution. For each convention the ANA takes 50 to 60% of sales. Different cities end up submitting tenders for their proposals and the ANA accepts the one that is most lucrative for them. That's how the city is decided upon. There is transaction of over 250 thousand dollars in the ANA. Part of the money makes it into the pocket of few I heard.

ANA is the best.. is it gonna be @ july 4th weekend???

I have heard this Percentage base contract between ANA and local Nepalese community over and over from many different sources. If this is true and sole reason for this event is to make money why do so many Nepalese support this event year after year ??!!  is it because there is no other events that unites us like this one or we all still stick to old tradition….Personally I don’t care what happens to maha katne haat ko……..but this annual event should focus more on bringing  Nepalese community together and keeping Nepali tradition alive. Encourage young Nepalese generation to take part in music and sports…..by rewarding for their effort and success, not just collecting entry fees.  I hope San Francisco will be first one to start cash prize trend.
