Excited journalists climbed on the palace furniture. They posed for pictures in the chair where Gyanendra would sit, flanked by two stuffed tigers. When the ex-king arrived they heckled him with the rudest words in the Nepali language.
The TV people have effectively run out of materials to talk about. For a job that involves talking about something/anything as trivial as it can be to fill the time-slot, I ain't too surprised.
If Gyanendra was still the king when this happened then it would have been a biggie. This TV guy, in essence, is saying it was just outrageous to see foreigners (reporters) sitting on Gyane's chair. What the TV producers don't see is the fact that the times have changed. For instance, the most powerful person in India, a country of one billion people, is a foreign-born and the Governor of California is Austrian-born. Let's not even talk about the hundreds and thousands of Nepalese who have now become the citizens of foreign countries among whom someday some may get elected to some remarkable government posts of their adopted countries. The point is you never know who might run our country in the days to come. By the way, sitting on that chair, if those reporters did get a vague feeling of what it feels like being called a living eating shitting Lord Bishnu's avataar, then good for them.
Now do you still desperately need somebody to be accountable for this incident? If affirmatively so then it would definitely be authorities/security who were supposed to secure the place before, during and after Gyane's press conference. Because of lack of security, did you notice [in that video] how close for comfort in regards to the proximity of the mob of reporters to Gyane was? The scene looks like a colony of impatient vultures ready to snatch a dying prey.
Shame on the authorities who were supposed to provide security who could have been a key in making the episode dignified for everyone. Or perhaps the entrusted security was in place but was diverted , at the last minute, to deal with the under-employed Tibetan demonstrators in front of the Chinese Embassy. As of late, I have realized that our country is a sad mess, becoming the dumping ground of the foreign agitators like Tibetans and Gadhi-mai (donkey mom?) devotees.
i don't think its a big deal.. Neta le chunab harera ta kursi maa basi rachan tyati bela janata le raja laii jitera kursi maa basna k bha. Kantipur needs to make some other news.
I dont think its a big deal that sombody picture themselves sittting on a ex-king's chair. The day while king became the normal citizen the chair itself is a normal chair...its not a throne or RAJGADDI...anymore
i read your and their comments and its totally waiyaat ...

, Have you ever thought from other side , when those white went back to their homeland , what did they had said or reported to their people about above incident ( which also resembles our country ) , i believe they showed what the above video is telling exactly , did you listened the last sentence , " Are they able to do same thing in their homeland " ,,,,,,,, Firstly No any reporters are allowed to do that and they will never do that , like just jump into that chair. Firstly our news reporter started and then that happened .
And what that thing , comparing with California ...India ..stop that its doesn't make any sense with above video and what kantipur TV did is fact , Coz if you had watched the following video carefully " One reporter apologized what he did "" So, how you can its say security and ..Don't blaming to Kantipur TV .......
Lets say , what about shoes throwing issue happened with BUSH ..whom you blame then " Security again or That reporter " ....Actually from your point of view " Security right " ..but i believe we didn't heard any bad about security right ? ... ......Are you from those khate Maoist ??
