Hello All , I am planning to go to Mexico next month for visa stamping. Can you suggest me what sort of document I need to take with me. Is that a good decision to go Mexico or no ? Is any other place I can go for visa stamping ? How about Canada ? I m in F1 status going for my undergrad course. Please help me out. If I get rejected over there still I can come back to USA with my valid I-20 or no ? somebody told me if I get rejected also I can get back with valid I-20 is that true ? Please help me out. Thank's in advance for your concern.

I don't think its good idea to travel to Mexico or Canada. Now, to process visa from canada, it takes at least a month but don't know about Mexico. One of the Guy who wants to renew his visa went to Mexico in morning and tried to came on same evening. Immigration people noticed that and he was deported to Nepal. It was a 2 years ago. one of my frn's frn was in same case in Canada and he was deported too. i think its too risk to get go Canada or Mexico to get visa. I would suggest not to go there. But take care.

I went and got my visa renewed from Matamoros Mexico back in March 2008. It's just the same procedure like the one you initially do in Nepal to apply for student visa (prepare all the documents, and wait for your turn to get interviewed). The only question I was asked: "Do you not go to the same university as mentioned in the PP." But of course I was going to the better university than the one mentioned on PP. Then he told me to pay fee and came back to collect my visa at around 3 and I caught the first flight next morning and flew back to Dallas. About 4 months before me almost half of dozen friends of mine did the same thing and all got their visas. However, many suggest it's a risky endeavor now and suggest not to take this route as long as you have a valid I 20.
