Ah dude you stole the words out of my mouth. Its the most overrated peice of shit out there. I owned one for 2 years and it wasn't any better than any other regular phone in the market. There are no innovative features, nothing compared to the Droid or Iphone.

9700 is one of most beautifull blackberry on its series. you can't run apps until u have data plan sorry for that , but as i was thinking to take blackberry without data some people told me whats the meaning of having blackberry without data , i said like you did , i have wifi everywhere i dont need data ! but since few month i am using blackberry 9780 with data and now i know what it mean !
i hsve used 9700 for couple of month and there was not any problem like you said !
Guys if u wants crap apps, crap games to waste your time blackberry is not your phon , but if u text a lot, like emails , file sharing, privacy is big issue for you than blackberry is best phone ever !

I completely agree with this topic... blackberry is an average phone. you cant compare it with iPhone4.. Pirka in what sense you think iphone is over rated?? Dont follow people blindly man.. think, see, feel, explore, compare, analyze and say... i know you just can't afford it..

first of all i'm not comparing iphone with blackberry or any other phone.
in a sense that it is one of the most hyped phone and i cant stand it. it's just that people go crazy for iphone; i dont see the madness behind it. it might be god for you but it's just another phone for me. you'r probally one of those people carrying iphone, using it's apps, playing angry bird and checking fb status every 5 seconds around frens. lol. nothing wrong with it, just saying!

Iphone is nowhere in comparision to Blackberry. Not only its the apps, but the user friendliness, simplicity and quality is what the iphone all about, so its not a hyped phone. It does what its meant for and has changed the perception of a "smartphone" from the day it became public.
Blackberry on the other hand is not user friendly and has issues with every single software that its supposed to run including the apps. It a very slow phone (booting issues, freezing) and look at the costly plans, geez!! so i wonder what the heck in the world we did to make this phone an admired one for years. Even, if you install some app to free up your RAM, it still runs slow and here i am not specifying a single BB model out there, ievery model does the same.I believe Blackberry has failed to upgrade itself with the time and the changing technology and will soon by in the verge of dying.

I think is an unfair comparion to begin with.
Blackberry (RIM) was designed for a specific target market: professionals. The synchronization to outlook and other office related feature is what separated blackberry from other services. RIM thus controlled the biggest share of mobile world, better than iphone and until recently androids.
However, blackberry's new offerings are for general "smart phone" consumers. Similarly, Android has penetrated into blackberry's professional market. As such, Android is the leading OS now, RIM being second and iPhone's OS in third in mobile technology.
So, blackberry's primal and original focus being business professionals, if you are just that then blackberry is the best. For other users, Android or iphone would be better.

@ deemag kharab: your dimag is a'ite man.. its not kharab..
@Stiffler: BlackBerry has the highest market share because they are selling these phones from 2002/2003 and at that time no other phones could support email sync. so many companies bought these phones for their employees and they continued with this phone because they have contracts and infrastructures already setup. Now since iPhone supports exchange server.. there are negligle number of companies adopting blackberry. Since the launch of iPhone, blackberry is losing its market share day by day.
@Pirka: see how u r talking... if you think iPhone is just another phone, you shouldn't have replied to this thread where people are talking about "SMART"phone.

LOL @ "commentary angrybird"
Since, angry bird has already been brought up, i am amazed to believe that angry bird is in the top 5 most downloaded game of the year. Stage 5 and that was it for me.
Anyways, going back to BB, i believe any smartphone nowadays has the capability to sync the Outlook and MS Office. That probably was a revolution back then, but what about now? I do not think they deserve to be where the cmpany is right now. Or, is it just that people are reluctant to move on with the trend and still carry their BB around?
Bottomline is: I Just Cannot Stand Blackberries, no matter whether they are Storm, Bold or Curve.
