although i am a f-1 student .I have been filing 1040 A form for tax purpose for quiet a long time.and getting little more money.
I am doing it with tax specialist.They have given my family also ITIN number.
some prople say that is illigal,some says no.
which one to believe.
if it is illigal what is way out for this.

that's legal. When I was at F1 status, I also did same and my wife got ITIN.
there are lots of hidden points to get more money if attorney wants. So, Don't worry if you get more money.

As bairagi said and your tax prepare said the is the legal way to do. Once you done either keep it doing or amend as said. Now choice is yours.
